This album here, which was originally released as a simply self-titled record, but which I've decided to rename as Unspoken Words (Deluxe), is a very special collection of songs and features a number of fine musicians:
Steve Brewster-drums,
Jackie Street-bass,
Tom Howard-piano, string and horn arrangements,
Jerry McPherson-guitar,
John Hammand-drums,
Hunter Lee-penny whistle and Irish pipes,
Wade Jaynes-bass,
Eric Darken-percussion,
Michael Aukofer-Marimba
and a number of singers doing BGVs:
Gene Miller, Gianna Jesson, Keith Moore, my sister Geri Bobeck, Bernadette and our daughter Alicia.
This album also features wonderful string and horn players!
Their names are all listed. Special thanks goes to Hank Williams for his mastering of this album.
Others are listed in the final credits—what a list of friends and talented people! Thank you also Ben Pearson and Jimmy Abegg.
I was blessed to have gifted cowriters and the inspiration of beautiful poetry as well. Many talented people contributed their talents to this project, to whom I’m grateful, including arranger Carl Marsh.
Tom Lanne produced this album and it was a great experience for me to work with him. He was very positive and engaged in the whole recording process!
Judith Volz was my A&R director and she, along Jamie Kiner helped me choose the songs.
This collection contains the original album in full quality as well as a number of demos and bonus tracks.
Liner notes have been provided as well regarding the credits and personnel for each song that was on the original CD release
I’d like to acknowledge Paul Field who wrote the lyrics to the bonus tracks: The Mirror and The Beat Of Your Heart.
It’s been nearly 20 years since I heard these demos.
I’d also like to acknowledge these co-writers as well:
My sister, Geri Bobeck: Tender Love and My Unspoken Words, Keith Moore: A Little Bit Of Light and Sheila Walsh: Jesus Loves The Church.
Tracks 2 and 9 are words I found in the devotional (The Continual Burnt Offering)
Above All Things was directly inspired by the writings of St John Chrysostom on marriage.
One of my best recordings is Under The Grace-
My dear wife Bernadette was the inspiration for this song.
Special thanks to Tom Howard’s piano and string arrangement. He and Jackie Street are very missed by many friends, including me!
Tom Lanne’s production and mixing is stellar as well as the players.
Tender Love is also a special song to me.
I hope you will enjoy the demos provided here as well.
I’ve made many albums in my life, and this one is among my favorites. Thanks all…

Beautiful work guys! Some perfect amalgamation of ambient, jazz and maybe a touch of electronic music here and there. The way the guitars and keys play off of each other is wonderful. The Green Kingdom

Unable to choose 1 favorite track. (Webmaster, add "ALL"). Each a fine musician, Phil, Tony & Jerry blend beautifully as a tight trio, each one telling their own story part of the conversation. Luckily for us, we get to listen! Catch the quiet & spontaneous "ha-ha!" at the end of Jam 1. Love this album & sharing widely! sbnss
