about

This disc contains a few variations on the themes in “Crimson and Blue” – celebration of life, reunion, restoration and forgiveness. It’s also a peek into some of the fun, unrehearsed moments in the studio with some of my oldest and best pals. I hope you will enjoy our candidness, and just take it in and let it out, like breathing. But do turn it up good and loud! God’s peace.

1. EVERYWHERE I LOOK (Radio Mix)
Written by Phil Madeira

2. JOHN THE REVELATOR (Radio Mix)
“Lynn and I learned this song from a Son House record (a blues great). His version was acapella with hand claps. We wrote the music, added some ‘Cream’ to it, and there you have it.” P.K.
Traditional. Arranged by Phil Keaggy and L. Arthur Nichols

3. DOIN’ NOTHIN’ (Alternate Take – Swamp Version)
“Another favorite take of the album version. It really swings toward the end – we all happened to be playing in different keys – deliberately!” P.K.

4. JOHN THE REVELATOR (Extended Strat Mix)
“This song has an alternate guitar solo at the end jam (for those of us who like the sound of a good ‘ol Strat). The album version has the Les Paul solo.” P.K.

5. THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF…
“A jam with 2/3 of what used to be Glass Harp (John Sferra and myself). John played drums on the whole ‘Crimson and Blue’ record. After twenty years, it was a wonderful recording reunion. This jam was the very last thing recorded after the rest of the band had gone home to bed. It’s an unrehearsed, spontaneous musical dialogue between the two of us – the same sort of thing we did in our early days with bassist, Dan Pecchio. If you have a bass – join in!” P.K.
Written by Phil Keaggy and John Sferra

6. CELEBRATE
“The outro of the album’s ‘Reunion of Friends’ – everybody celebrate!” P.K.
