about

"In this album, the artful combination of creativity and refreshing sounds has provided some of the most interesting music that I have heard in a long time."
--Ken Mansfield-- Former US Manager of Beatles Apple Record Company

Phil Keaggy's notes on NUMEN

It was exciting to jam these tunes out in my studio with Kyle Jones. We discovered a musical kinship as well as being brothers in our faith. Kyle has an exceptional gift with rhythms and all the nuances that go along with being a true percussionist. All tunes were entirely improvised, then later, edited. On a good many songs, I added the bass and other guitar bits.

Hope you enjoy the experience of listening to these "musings".

I'd like to thank, along with Kyle, our friends who lent their gifts.

Bara Jawad - who played the Oud on Sarai
Catlin Evenson - who played Violin on Sarai
Megan Dockerey - vocal on Lillith
Brandon Heinzelmann - Engineering on Adamah
I played the Olson acoustic guitar on:
tracks 1,3,4,5,6,8. 10 and 11
And The Brunner Bari 12 String Acoustic on
tracks 2,13 and 14

I used Yamaha Fretless and Hofner basses. I also used a Zion electric guitar. The project was recorded to Pro Tools LE 002.

Kyle Jones' notes on NUMEN

I had a blast recording with Phil. We created a wonderful friendship and a continued musical relationship resulting from this project. Phil has always been an inspiration to me before I met him and a bigger one now that I know him.

I played various percussive items found in South and North India, Java, West Africa, the Middle East and South America.

This project marked a good year for me. During this project time, GOD allowed me to win an Emmy. I used the experience to tell everyone that ALL things are possible in GOD.

Life is a tremendous gift to us by GOD. Let's live every moment as such.

Phil and I would like to thank Anthony Johnson for mastering the album and Brandon Heinzelman for spec. EFX on recording Adamah.

I would like to thank my daughter Alicia for Loving me SOOO much by the honor that she has brought to me as a Father. I would like to thank my wife for helping me put this project into an organized body. She has been tirelessly efficient in all business matters concerning this.

Finally, I would like to thank one of my dearest friends, Byron House. Byron is blessed to be Robert Plant's bassist in the "Band of Joy" as he travels the world shining the light that GOD has given him.

I have worked with Byron on many projects as his perfection as a person and musician stands consistent time after time. Phil, Byron, and I are currently having fun doing "jams" with Phil at Phil's home studio. I personally hope these jam sessions materialize into something.
